JodyJazzサクソフォン＆クラリネットマウスピースの創設者の ジョディ・エスピナは社長でありデザイナーでもあります。 またエスピナはプロサックス、クラリネット、フルート奏者そして教育者として現在も活躍中。 2005年までエスピナはニューヨークにある"Hoff Barthelson Music School”のジャズ科でディレクターとしてジャズセオリー、即興法、アンサンブル、個人レッスンなどを教える。また、"Concordia College"でもサックスとクラリネットの講師として教鞭をとる。2000年に創設したJodyJazzの急激な飛躍により、 全ての労力をJodyJazzにつぎ込む為、2005年に教壇を降りる。

スペインのバルセロナではサックス、クラリネット、フルート講師としてTaller de MusicsとLutier School of Fine Artsssで教鞭をとり、手話音楽（Sound Painting）の指揮者としてヨーローパやアメリアを中心にワークショップやセミナーを行う。

現在エスピナは世界各国でマウスピース・テクノロジー、即興法、サックス練習法などのクリニックを行い、多忙なスケジュールの合間をぬっては、 サックス個人レッスンも行う。教師としてのエスピナのモットーは生徒独自の創造性を引き出す事はさることながら、愛、暖かみ、優しさ、辛抱強さをもって生徒に接する事。 エスピナはブロードウエーミュージカルに頻繁にサックスの代役を努める。また映画『Sex, Drugs and Democracy』、『Guiding Light』、『The Reading Rainbow』 のサウンドトラックのグスト・ソロイストとして参加し、日本のスペインのTVショーにも出演する。レコーディング・アーティストとしては『Illuminatti』『Brilliant Coroners』『The Walter Thompson Orchestra』など数々のレコーディングの参加する。

エスピナはショー・ビジネス界のキング、メル・トームやカントリー・ミュージックのアイコン、エディー・アーノルドと共演し、ルイス・ベルソン、レイチェル・Z、ロブ・ヘムケ、ラルフ・スタム、マーク・フィールドマン、ビック・ジュリスなど数々のミュージシャンとステージを共にする。

アメリカを拠点に、エスピナはヨーロッパ、カナダなど独自のバンドでツアーを行う。2001年にはカリビアン諸島のジャズフェスティバルでチック・コリア、ロイ・ヘインズ、ジョシュア・レドマンバンドのオープニングアクトとして出演する。 Jody has studied with the most revered masters of the saxophone, teachers that have shaped the course of Jazz itself, having taught almost all of the major saxophonists of our time. Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Sonny Stitt, Harry Carney, Michael Brecker, Joe Lavano and Jerry Coker are only a few of the influential players that have been taught by Jody's teachers: Joe Allard, Junie Ferrell, David Gross, Dave Liebman, Santy Runyon, Joe Viola , George Garzone, and the great pianist/composer Joanne Brackeen.

After majoring in classical clarinet for two years at the University of South Florida, Espina transferred to Berklee College of Music where he won a Phil Woods Performance Scholarship. While at Berklee, he had classes with master teachers: Herb Pomeroy, John LaPorta, Gary Burton, Mike Metheny, Phil Wilson, and Joe Viola. Espina graduated magne cum laude with a degree in Performance; his senior recital was broadcast on National Public Radio. Jody is a member of: IAJE, (International Association of Jazz Educators) WCSMA, (Westchester County Music Association), Local 802 (Musicians Union), NAMM, is on the Board of Directors of Strike Anywhere, is a SoundPainting Conducter and is moderately fluent in Spanish.
